ICL Expands in China with $170M AMP Deal

ICL, a leading global specialty minerals company, has signed a five-year agreement valued at approximately $170 million with AMP Holdings Group Co. Ltd., a prominent agricultural distribution company in China. This agreement, set to run until 2028, aligns with ICL’s strategic goal of expanding its Growing Solutions product range and enhancing its position in key markets.

The deal focuses on specialty water-soluble fertilizers, ideal for drip irrigation and designed for high-value cash crops including apples, watermelons, vegetables, strawberries, ginger, and grapes. It includes a minimum purchase commitment and features exclusivity conditions based on brand and region.

ICL is dedicated to ongoing innovation and developing new products for partners like AMP. This includes their recent introduction of a unique phosphate and potassium specialty suspension solution tailored for drone application, a rapidly growing sector in Chinese agriculture.

AMP Holdings has been a trailblazer in distributing irrigation-based specialty products in China for over a decade. They were among the first to recognize the benefits of specialty water-soluble fertilizers and have established a strong team of agronomists and sales professionals. As a long-term strategic partner of ICL, AMP Holdings’ extensive distribution capabilities set them apart in the Chinese market.

Elad Aharonson, president of ICL Growing Solutions, commented, “Our soluble fertilizer products are recognized as leaders in China, a critical region for us. This agreement with AMP Holdings will further solidify ICL’s position in the premium segment of China’s specialty fertilizer market. We value our ongoing partnership with AMP and appreciate their continued endorsement of our expertise in specialty soluble fertilizers.”

Ye Hong, general manager of AMP Holdings, added, “We are excited to deepen our relationship with ICL Group and collaborate on bringing innovative specialty solutions to the Chinese market. Together, we are enhancing farmers’ investment returns and yields through advanced irrigation-based fertilizers.”

This partnership represents a significant step in ICL’s expansion in China and highlights the company’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge agricultural solutions that meet the evolving needs of the regional market.
