National Fertilizers Limited (NFL), India’s leading state-owned urea manufacturer, announced on Friday the approval for a new NFL fertilizer plant in Madhya Pradesh. This Rs 208 crore plant will produce water-soluble fertilizers and micronutrients. It marks an important step in NFL’s efforts to diversify and meet India’s demand for specialized agricultural inputs.

As part of its new strategy, NFL will close its nano urea facility in Nangal, Punjab. This move shifts resources to high-demand products that provide more value to Indian farmers.

NFL operates five ammonia-urea plants in Punjab, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh. Its range includes urea, bio-fertilizers, industrial chemicals, and agricultural inputs like certified seeds and agrochemicals. With the addition of water-soluble fertilizers and micronutrients, NFL aims to meet rising demand from farmers seeking better soil health and higher yields. The new NFL fertilizer plant in Madhya Pradesh will play a major role in this mission.

This facility also aligns with NFL’s commitment to sustainable growth and will create new jobs in the region. With these steps, NFL strengthens its leadership in India’s fertilizer sector and supports the changing needs of Indian agriculture.
