KBR has announced that it will provide its advanced ammonia technology for KazAzot’s first world-scale fertilizer complex in Kazakhstan. The plant, located in Aktau, will produce 2,000 metric tons of ammonia per day.
As part of the project, KBR will offer a complete package of solutions. This includes a technology license, proprietary engineering design, equipment, and catalyst solutions. Once operational, the plant will strengthen food security for Kazakhstan and neighboring countries.
Jay Ibrahim, President of KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions, shared his excitement about the collaboration. “We are excited to support KazAzot in the development of this fertilizer facility in Kazakhstan and offer our innovative solutions for increasing self-reliance,” he said.
He also highlighted the benefits of KBR ammonia technology. The technology aims to improve operational efficiency and reduce carbon emissions compared to traditional methods.
This partnership demonstrates KazAzot’s dedication to sustainable fertilizer production and reinforces KBR’s role as a leader in cutting-edge solutions for the global fertilizer industry.
