Yara India continues to excel in operational efficiency, particularly in energy use. In FY2024, the company achieved an average energy consumption of 5.12 Gcal/MT, well below the industry benchmark of 5.417 Gcal/MT. This improvement resulted in significant energy savings, strengthening its position in the Indian fertilizer market.

In YTDFY2025, the company made even greater strides, reducing energy consumption further to 4.99 Gcal/MT. This milestone highlights Yara India’s dedication to efficiency, innovation, and sustainable production.

For Indian urea manufacturers like Yara India, energy efficiency is key to profitability. The industry faces challenges with under-recovery of fixed costs, making energy savings a crucial driver of financial performance. With the current norms in place, any further reductions in energy consumption will directly enhance the company’s profitability.

By investing in advanced technologies and optimizing processes, Yara India is not only meeting but exceeding industry standards. Its commitment to energy efficiency strengthens its financial standing and aligns with India’s broader sustainability goals in the fertilizer sector.
