The FACT Ambalamedu NPK Plant is advancing steadily toward commissioning in FY2025-26. Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd (FACT) entrusted the 1,650 MTPD project to Nuberg EPC under an LSTK contract, and site activity confirms that construction has entered a critical execution stage.
Civil works on the main plant building are progressing without delay. At the same time, workers are completing intermediate storage tanks, while major equipment shipments continue to arrive at Ambalamedu. These developments highlight FACT’s commitment to expanding its fertilizer production capacity in Kerala.
The brownfield facility will manufacture multiple grades, including NPK 20:20:0:13 and DAP 18:46:0, through Pre-Neutralizer + Pipe Reactor technology. Moreover, the plant plays a central role in FACT’s larger CAPEX programme to modernise and expand the Cochin Division.
According to official filings, FACT expects commissioning of the FACT Ambalamedu NPK Plant during FY2025-26. Considering the momentum at the site, the facility could realistically become operational in Q4 FY2025-26, provided supply-chain and regulatory processes remain on track.
Key enablers for timely completion include consistent equipment deliveries, on-schedule completion of battery-limit civil works, and smooth execution of E&I and pre-commissioning activities. Nevertheless, risks such as delayed inspections or unexpected regulatory approvals could still affect the schedule.
Going forward, FERTILIZERFIELD will continue to monitor the FACT Ambalamedu NPK Plant closely. Updates will cover contractor progress, FACT announcements, and fertilizer tender developments. In addition, we will share progress photos and milestone updates to keep industry professionals informed.
