Vadodara, India — November 3, 2025: Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GNFC) has announced a major leadership change with the appointment of Shri Manoj Kumar Das, IAS, as the new Chairman and Director. This GNFC Chairman Appointment was approved by the Government of Gujarat, Energy & Petrochemicals Department, under order No. EPCD/0010/11/2025, and became effective on November 1, 2025.
Shri Das succeeds Shri Pankaj Joshi, IAS (Retd.), bringing extensive administrative and corporate experience to GNFC’s leadership team
Administrative and Corporate Background
A 1990 batch IAS officer, Shri Das currently serves as Chief Secretary to the Government of Gujarat. He holds a B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT-Kharagpur and has over three decades of experience in public administration, urban management, and corporate governance.
He has served as:
Additional Chief Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Gujarat
Municipal Commissioner of Surat and Vadodara
District Collector of Porbandar, Palanpur, and Surat
Principal Secretary in the Departments of Industries & Mines, and Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs
Joint Managing Director of GSPC and Director at GSPC LNG Limited and Gujarat State Petronet Limited
Appointment Approvals
The GNFC Chairman Appointment is subject to approvals from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, Board of Directors, and shareholders of GNFC. The company confirmed that Shri Das is not debarred by SEBI or any other authority from holding a directorship.
