Egypt fertilizer prices recorded mixed movements on Monday, December 22, 2025, according to the latest data released by the Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC). Price fluctuations were observed across key fertilizers, while building materials also showed varied trends.
Fertilizer Price Movements
Prices of ammonium sulfate (20.6%) declined sharply to around EGP 16,933.90 per tonne. The product recorded a 15% daily drop and a 10.2% monthly decline. However, on a year-on-year basis, prices remained 14.6% higher.
In contrast, ammonium nitrate (33.5%) prices increased to EGP 23,511.90 per tonne, reflecting a 2.6% daily rise. The product also posted a 20% year-on-year increase, indicating sustained demand despite short-term volatility.
Meanwhile, urea (46.5%) prices climbed to EGP 24,380 per tonne. Urea registered a 2.4% daily increase, although prices slipped marginally by 0.1% on a monthly basis. On an annual comparison, urea prices were 18.7% higher.
Building Materials Also See Mixed Signals
In the building materials segment, gray cement prices rose to EGP 4,049.60 per tonne, up 4.7% on the day. Despite the daily gain, cement prices declined 1.9% month on month, while remaining 34.8% higher year on year.
Conversely, investment-grade steel prices fell to EGP 36,026.70 per tonne, recording daily and monthly declines of 3% and 3.6%, respectively. Prices were also 5% lower compared to last year.
Similarly, Ezz Steel prices dropped to EGP 37,582 per tonne, down 1.2% on the day, 3.8% month on month, and 6% year on year.

According to IDSC, these price movements reflect ongoing shifts in Egypt’s local commodity markets. The data serves as an important reference for policymakers, traders, and investors in assessing market dynamics and making informed economic and commercial decisions.
