Kochi, October 13 2025 — Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd (FACT) has announced a major phosphoric acid import plan for 2026, inviting global suppliers to participate in a two-part open e-tender on India’s e-procurement portal.
FACT issues global call for phosphoric acid imports
Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT), a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers, has invited bids for the supply of phosphoric acid (P₂O₅ 46–53 %) under its phosphoric acid import plan 2025-26.
The tender (Enquiry No. MAT-RM-PHOS-2025-IX, dated October 13, 2025) seeks competitive offers for bulk supply on a CFR Cochin basis. Bids must be submitted by 2 p.m. IST on October 27, 2025 through India’s official e-procurement portal.
Import schedule and specifications
FACT plans to import about 34,000 tonnes of phosphoric acid solution in three consignments early next year:
Shipment | Quantity | Arrival Window | Port |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Up to 10,000 MT | Jan 20–30 2026 | Cochin Port |
2 | Up to 12,000 MT | Feb 20–Mar 2 2026 | Cochin Port |
3 | Up to 12,000 MT | Mar 20–30 2026 | Cochin Port |
Each lot will carry phosphoric acid of 46–53 % P₂O₅ concentration. The rate of discharge at Cochin Port is set at 700 MT/hr SHINC.
Pricing and evaluation
Bidders must quote on a 100 % P₂O₅ CFR basis with a 30-day credit term.
The benchmark reference price is USD 1,290 ± α per t P₂O₅, aligned with Argus Phosphates CFR India Q4 2025 levels.
“α” denotes any premium or discount offered and will remain fixed through the contract.
Evaluation will consider total landed cost at Cochin Port, including freight, insurance, and port charges.
The successful bidder (L-1) will be determined based on the lowest evaluated CFR price, adjusted for α and demurrage terms.
Eligibility criteria
To qualify under the FACT phosphoric acid import plan, bidders must meet one of the following:
Manufacturers producing at least 25,000 t (100 % P₂O₅) per year with proof of at least one 10,000 t CFR shipment in the last three years; or
