FACT plans to import 20,000 to 28,000 metric tonnes (MT) of Sulphuric Acid in two separate shipments through Cochin Port.
First shipment: 10,000–14,000 MT between November 25 and December 4, 2025
Second shipment: 10,000–14,000 MT between December 17 and 26, 2025
If the requested laycan is unavailable, bidders can propose the nearest possible dates.
Eligibility for Participation
The tender is open to both manufacturers and traders meeting specific experience and capacity criteria.
For Manufacturers:
Minimum production capacity: 50,000 MT of Sulphuric Acid per year
Must have supplied at least one shipment of 10,000 MT Sulphuric Acid in bulk on a CFR basis in the past three years
For Traders:
Must have experience in shipping 10,000 MT or more of Sulphuric Acid or other liquid cargo in bulk
Must submit a manufacturer’s backup certificate confirming quality and quantity support

Bids should quote prices on a CFR Cochin basis. FACT has requested a credit period of up to 180 days from the Bill of Lading date. Offers with shorter credit periods will be adjusted using an interest rate of 7.22% per annum for evaluation.
Financial Terms and Evaluation
Earnest Money Deposit (EMD): USD 10,000 (via RTGS/NEFT/TT)
Security Deposit: As per FACT purchase conditions
Evaluation Basis: Landed cost at Cochin Port, including insurance, port dues, and customs duty
Bids with conditions such as “subject to vessel availability” will be rejected. FACT will assess bids based on both cash and 180-day credit options to choose the most economical offer.
Compliance and Vessel Requirements
All vessels delivering Sulphuric Acid must hold valid P&I and classification certificates issued by recognized international bodies.
Bidders from countries sharing a land border with India must register with the Competent Authority, as per the Public Procurement Order dated February 23, 2023, from the Ministry of Finance.
