The Telangana fertilizer booking app has delivered strong results during its pilot phase. Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said the app helped farmers buy urea smoothly and transparently. As a result, farmers faced fewer delays during the peak Rabi season.
Within just nine days, 82,059 farmers used the Telangana fertilizer booking app to purchase 2,01,789 bags of urea. Moreover, the pilot covered Adilabad, Mahbubnagar, Jangaon, Nalgonda, and Peddapalli districts. This wide coverage helped test the system effectively.
Because of online booking, farmers avoided long queues at fertilizer outlets. In addition, the app reduced crowding and ensured fair distribution.
Urea Availability and Stock Position for Rabi Season
The minister also assured farmers that Telangana has adequate urea stock for the Rabi season. Importantly, the Telangana fertilizer booking app enables real-time tracking of urea movement and availability.
| Particulars | Quantity (LMT) |
|---|---|
| Urea allocated by the Centre for Telangana (Rabi season) | 10.40 |
| Urea received by Telangana so far | 5.70 |
| Urea purchased by farmers (current year) | 3.72 |
| Urea purchased by farmers (same period last year) | 2.81 |
| Current urea stock available in Telangana | 2.15 |
How Online Urea Booking Is Helping Farmers
The Telangana fertilizer booking app allows farmers to book urea online and collect it from authorized sales points. As a result, the system helps prevent black marketing and overpricing.
To further assist farmers, the government has launched a toll-free helpline (1800-599-5779) at the Agriculture Commissionerate. Through this number, farmers can quickly resolve issues related to booking, availability, and distribution.
Monitoring Measures to Strengthen Telangana Fertiliser Booking App
Meanwhile, the minister directed district collectors to actively monitor urea demand and supply. He also asked officials to compare stock levels with daily demand.
Additionally, the government has formed special monitoring teams at the mandal, division, and district levels. These teams will address issues immediately and ensure smooth distribution. If required, officials will also open additional fertilizer sales points.
Overall, the state aims to further strengthen the Telangana fertiliser booking app before expanding it across all districts.
