The Zuari FARMHUB partnership with Nigeria is taking shape as India’s leading fertilizer manufacturer, Zuari FARMHUB Limited, begins collaboration with the Nigeria Agribusiness and Agro Industry Development Initiative (NAADI). The move aims to boost fertilizer availability and food production in Akwa Ibom State.
Samples of Zuari FARMHUB fertilizers and organic products have reached the state. The products were presented to farmers and investors during a meeting at NAADI’s South-South office on Idoro Road, Uyo.
Zuari FARMHUB Introduces Smart Fertilizer Solutions
Speaking at the event, Mr. Yogananda Kommaka, Manager of International Business at Zuari FARMHUB Limited, explained that the visit introduced Nigerian farmers to crop-specific and soil-targeted fertilizers.
“Our fertilizers are made for different crops and soil types. We want Nigerian farmers to benefit from our tested and trusted products,” Kommaka said.
He noted that the Zuari FARMHUB partnership with Nigeria would promote sustainable farming and help improve soil health. The company already supplies its products to several countries in Asia and Africa.
NAADI Praises the Zuari FARMHUB Partnership
Mr. Howard Usen, South-South Coordinator of NAADI, welcomed the initiative. He said the collaboration marks a new chapter for modern fertilizer use in southern Nigeria.
“We will test and verify the fertilizers before recommending them for large-scale use,” Usen assured.
He added that the partnership would modernize agriculture and strengthen food security in the region. Moreover, it aligns with NAADI’s broader goal of empowering rural farmers through innovation.
Farmers Express Strong Interest
Farmers from Abia State attended the meeting and expressed keen interest in joining the fertilizer testing program. They also showed readiness to participate in the distribution once the products receive approval.
According to the participants, Zuari FARMHUB’s specialized fertilizers could enhance crop yields, reduce production costs, and restore soil fertility. Consequently, the collaboration is expected to benefit both small and large-scale farmers.
Upcoming Agribusiness Roundtable Conference
During the meeting, Mr. Usen announced that preparations are complete for the 4th Agribusiness Roundtable International Conference in Uyo, from October 26 to 29, 2025.
The conference theme, “Resilient Agribusiness: A Sustainable Solution for a Changing World,” reflects the global push toward sustainable farming.
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, will serve as Special Guest, joined by government officials, investors, and business leaders from across Nigeria and abroad.
Conclusion
The Zuari FARMHUB partnership with Nigeria marks a key milestone in agricultural cooperation between the two nations. With NAADI’s guidance, the project will expand access to quality fertilizers, improve yields, and support long-term food security.
As both partners move forward, their collaboration promises a more resilient and productive agricultural future for Nigeria’s South-South region.
