The Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) has received the lowest offer of $223.90 per tonne CFR in its latest tender to procure 30,000 tonnes of minimum 70 BPL phosphate rock. The tender closed today, drawing bids from international trading firms supplying Moroccan and Jordanian material.
The procurement is intended for delivery to BCIC’s TSP complex jetty at Chattogram, with shipment scheduled soon after the contract award.
Gentrade Submits Lowest Offer for Moroccan Rock
Trading firm Gentrade FZE submitted the lowest bid in the BCIC phosphate rock tender. The company offered Moroccan phosphate rock at $223.90/t CFR.
According to the bid details:
Freight cost: $63.40/t
Netback price: $160/t FOB
Product specification: minimum 70 BPL (32% P₂O₅)
The offer is considered competitive compared to recent global phosphate rock price trends.
Midgulf Offers Jordanian Phosphate Rock
Another trading firm, Midgulf, also participated in the tender. The company offered Jordanian phosphate rock at $257.50/t CFR.
Bid details include:
Freight cost: $35/t
FOB price: $222.50/t
Specification: approximately 70 BPL rock
The Jordanian offer was significantly higher than the Moroccan supply bid submitted by Gentrade.
Market Price Comparison
According to Argus price assessments, the midpoint price for Moroccan 70 BPL phosphate rock was around $177/t FOB in the fourth quarter of last year.
For Jordanian 68–70 BPL phosphate rock, Argus assessed prices in the range of $159–182/t FOB during the same period.
The submitted bids reflect freight costs, regional demand, and current supply conditions in the phosphate market.
Delivery Terms for BCIC Tender
BCIC requires:
Completion of the sale within 30 days of issuing the letter of credit
Delivery of cargo to the TSP complex jetty at Chattogram
The procurement will support fertilizer production at BCIC’s TSP facilities, ensuring raw material availability for upcoming production cycles.
