BFI Tender to Sell 42,000t Granular Urea for March Shipment

NCIC Egypt tender

The BFI urea tender is set to close today as Brunei-based fertilizer producer Brunei Fertilizer Industries (BFI) offers multiple granular urea cargoes to the international market. The producer is selling two 6,000-tonne cargoes and one 30,000-tonne cargo for March 2026 shipment, according to market participants.

The latest BFI fertilizer tender reflects steady export activity from Southeast Asia. The region remains a key supplier influencing global urea trade and pricing signals.

BFI Urea Tender Cargo Breakdown and Market Focus

Under the BFI fertilizer tender, the two smaller 6,000t cargoes are expected to serve regional Southeast Asian buyers. These parcels typically attract traders and distributors seeking prompt cargoes for nearby markets.

Meanwhile, the larger 30,000t cargo offered in the BFI fertilizer tender could draw interest from India. Traders noted that Indian buyers often target large-volume cargoes to meet seasonal agricultural demand and maintain supply security.

BFI Urea Tender Pricing Expectations

Market sources suggest the producer is targeting sales in the $490s per tonne FOB. This price expectation indicates firm sentiment and aligns with improving regional demand.

The BFI fertilizer tender pricing also sits within the latest market benchmarks. Argus last assessed Southeast Asian granular urea prices at $460-495/t FOB on 19 February 2026, highlighting a stable regional range.

Market Implications of the BFI Urea Tender

The outcome of the BFI fertilizer tender will provide fresh direction for Asian urea markets. A sale near the $490s/t FOB level may support firm pricing sentiment across Southeast Asia. However, softer bids could signal cautious buying behaviour and potential short-term price pressure.

India’s possible participation in the larger cargo will remain a key market driver. As one of the world’s largest urea importers, India’s buying activity often shapes regional trade flows and pricing momentum.

Overall, traders will closely monitor the BFI fertilizer tender results for insights into demand strength, freight economics, and near-term price trends.
