Toyo Engineering urea technology has been selected for a world-scale fertilizer project planned by BUA Chemicals Limited in Nigeria. The project will use Toyo Engineering urea technology for urea synthesis and granulation, strengthening Nigeria’s fertilizer production capacity.
Toyo Engineering Urea Technology Selected for BUA Project
Toyo Engineering Corporation announced that it will provide its proprietary urea synthesis and granulation license for the new fertilizer complex. The plant will consist of two production lines. Each line will have a capacity of 4,000 tons per day.
As a result, the total installed capacity will reach 8,000 tons per day. This makes the facility one of the largest urea plants in the world.
Urea Technology License for World-Scale Nigeria Plant
Currently, the project is in the Front End Engineering Design stage. During this phase, TOYO will act as the licensor. It will also deliver the Process Design Package.
Moreover, the PDP will serve as the technical foundation for detailed engineering and construction. It includes process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and key equipment data.
Proven Urea Process Technology Across Africa
TOYO has supplied its urea technology to more than 110 plants worldwide. In Africa, the company has already licensed four projects with a capacity of 4,000 tons per day.
Therefore, its strong regional track record played a key role in this selection. In addition, TOYO’s technology has shown stable performance in large-scale operations.
Supporting Fertilizer Demand and Food Security in Nigeria
Global population growth continues to drive fertilizer demand. Consequently, many large fertilizer projects are under development worldwide.
Through this project, TOYO aims to support Nigeria’s fertilizer self-sufficiency. At the same time, it seeks to strengthen food security across Africa by supplying reliable urea process technology.
