DAP Consumption Andhra Pradesh: Nandyal Tops India 2025

Andhra Pradesh leads in fertilizer consumption

DAP consumption Andhra Pradesh has drawn national attention as multiple districts from the State feature in India’s top fertilizer-consuming regions for 2025. Nandyal district secured the first position in DAP usage, highlighting intensive farming practices.

Several districts feature in national rankings

The State has a strong presence in the national top 100 list. Palnadu ranked eighth, while Bapatla stood at 49th position. Districts such as Anantapur, Guntur, SPSR Nellore, Eluru, and Prakasam also recorded notable fertilizer usage, reflecting widespread agricultural activity.

Urea demand shows similar trend

Apart from phosphatic fertilizers, Andhra Pradesh districts also reported significant urea consumption. SPSR Nellore ranked 51st nationally, while Nandyal stood at 83rd, driven by paddy cultivation and commercial crops.

District-wise consumption remains high

As of January 19, 2026, SPSR Nellore topped the State in urea sales with 69,005 metric tonnes. Tirupati, Palnadu, Guntur, and Bapatla also reported strong consumption figures.

The Godavari delta regions—East Godavari and West Godavari—continued to register steady fertilizer demand, reinforcing their role as key rice-producing areas.

Experts raise concerns over fertilizer overuse

Experts warn that rising DAP consumption Andhra Pradesh and excessive urea use may harm soil health over time. Overuse can reduce fertility, disturb soil nutrients, and affect long-term productivity.

Focus on balanced fertilizer use

Agricultural officials are encouraging balanced nutrient management. Farmers are advised to use a mix of nitrogen, phosphatic, and potassic fertilizers along with organic manures based on soil health.
