The Iran Belarus fertilizer agreement marks a major step toward deeper agricultural and industrial cooperation between the two countries. Iran’s Agriculture Minister Gholamreza Nouri Qezeljeh and Belarus’ Industry Minister Andrei Kuznetsov finalised the plan during an official meeting. Both sides agreed to expand their partnership across agriculture, forestry, veterinary services, and quarantine systems for plants and animals.
Under this agreement, Iran will supply part of Belarus’s food needs. In return, Belarus will provide agricultural raw materials that Iran regularly imports. Iran also announced its readiness to act as a transit hub for Belarusian agricultural products headed to other global markets. This move strengthens Iran’s role in regional trade and logistics.
A key component of the Iran Belarus fertilizer agreement is cooperation in potash fertilizer production. Iran will import a portion of its potassium fertilizer from Belarus. At the same time, Iran will process part of the production chain domestically. This dual approach helps Iran reduce dependency on imported fertilizer and strengthens local production.
Given Belarus’s strong industrial base, both nations also agreed to jointly produce heavy agricultural machinery. The partnership includes the manufacturing of tractors, combine harvesters, trucks, and ultra-heavy vehicles. Iranian companies such as the Iran Tractor Manufacturing Company will collaborate closely in this venture. This cooperation is expected to improve equipment availability for Iranian farmers and reduce import costs.
In addition, the agreement opens opportunities for technology sharing, workforce training, and industrial upgrades. Iran gains access to Belarus’ machinery expertise, while Belarus benefits from Iran’s growing agricultural market and strategic transit position.
Together, these efforts aim to build a stable and efficient agricultural ecosystem. The partnership blends Iran’s regional trade capabilities with Belarus’s industrial strengths. As a result, the Iran Belarus fertilizer agreement is expected to expand further and support long-term development in both nations.
