Amit Shah Inaugurates Bio-CNG and Fertilizer Plant by Banas Dairy in Gujarat

FERTILIZERFIELD

Amit Shah Banas Dairy project gained momentum on Saturday as Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah inaugurated a newly built Bio-CNG and fertilizer plant in Vav-Tharad, Gujarat. He also laid the foundation stone for a 150-ton milk powder plant, marking another expansion milestone for Banas Dairy. Several senior leaders including Gujarat Assembly Speaker Shankar Chaudhary and Union Ministers Krishan Pal Gurjar and Murlidhar Mohol attended the ceremony.

Amit Shah Banas Dairy Project and White Revolution 2.0

Speaking at the event, Amit Shah Banas Dairy initiative was linked with PM Narendra Modiโ€™s vision under White Revolution 2.0. Shah referred to major schemes like:

  • National Gokul Mission

  • Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund

  • National Dairy Plan (revamped)

  • National Animal Disease Control Programme

He said these efforts will accelerate dairy production, boost income and strengthen rural farmers.

Banas Dairy Growth, Turnover & Womenโ€™s Role

Shah highlighted Banas Dairy’s โ‚น24,000-crore turnover and credited women dairy workers of Banaskantha for shaping its success. In January, 250 dairy chairpersons and MDs from across India will visit Banaskantha to study its cooperative model.

Bio-CNG, Circular Economy & New Cooperative Roadmap

Shah said the Bio-CNG plant will become a national model for dairy cooperatives. He explained how cow dung and buffalo dung can produce Bio-CNG, organic manure and electricity โ€” increasing farmer income through a circular economy.

He added that cooperative dairies will now produce animal feed internally, allowing profits to remain with farmers. Shah also shared a list of high-value dairy products with Amul, encouraging them to target global markets.

New National Cooperatives and Future Expansion

The Centre has formed three new national-level cooperatives for seeds, organic products and agricultural exports. Another three multi-state dairy cooperatives will support cheese, baby food, edible oils and cold storage.

Shah assured that this model will raise farmer income by 20% or more, even without increasing milk output. Banas Dairy will act as the central node of this transformation.

Shah concluded by paying tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on Mahaparinirvan Diwas and remembering Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for building Indiaโ€™s cooperative movement.
