Indian DAP fertilizer imports remain active, with National Fertilizers Limited (NFL) likely buying two 30,000-tonne DAP cargoes from trading firm Midgulf International at prices in the high-$920s/t cfr India with credit terms. On a sight-payment equivalent, the price is estimated at around the mid-$910s/t cfr.
The latest purchases highlight continued demand for DAP fertilizer in India, while fellow importer Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore (FACT) has received four offers for a 50,000-tonne DAP cargo.
Indian DAP Fertilizer Imports: NFL Receives Four Offers
NFL’s tender for two 30,000-tonne DAP cargoes received four offers from international trading firms Ameropa, Oasis Global, Agrifields and Midgulf International when the tender closed on 11 August.
The tender sought two DAP cargoes of 30,000 tonnes each for shipment to the west coast of India by 31 August 2026.
Market sources indicated that Midgulf International was likely to have secured the business at prices in the high-$920s/t cfr with credit terms. However, the transaction could not be confirmed with Midgulf, and the origin of the cargoes remains unknown.
FACT Receives Four DAP Offers
FACT has also received four offers for its tender seeking 50,000 tonnes of DAP fertilizer.
The tender closed on 18 August after FACT extended the deadline by one day. The importer requested DAP cargoes for shipment by 31 August.
The offers received were:
- OCP offered Moroccan DAP for delivery to New Mangalore or Tuticorin ports.
- VB Venture offered US-origin DAP for shipment to New Mangalore or Tuticorin.
- Oasis Global offered Russian DAP for shipment to Tuticorin.
- Ameropa offered open-origin DAP for shipment to New Mangalore or Tuticorin.
Indian DAP Fertilizer Imports Remain Active
The latest tender activity shows that Indian DAP fertilizer imports remain strong as major fertilizer companies continue to secure cargoes for near-term delivery.
The availability of DAP from Morocco, the United States, Russia and other origins gives Indian buyers multiple sourcing options. Tender results from NFL and FACT could also provide further indications of DAP import prices and market sentiment.
Indian fertilizer importers are expected to remain active in the market as they manage domestic fertilizer requirements and prepare supplies for the upcoming agricultural season.
