Indorama settles Q1 phosphoric acid price with IFFCO at $1,290/t CFR India

The Indorama phosphoric acid contract with Indian importer IFFCO has been settled for the first quarter at $1,290 per tonne P2O5 CFR India with 30 days’ credit. The agreement confirms stable pricing in the global phosphoric acid market.

The latest Indorama phosphoric acid contract reflects steady demand from India and balanced supply from major exporting regions. Market participants noted that the settlement level aligns with other quarterly agreements concluded earlier this month.

Earlier, Nutrien and Coromandel also finalized their first-quarter phosphoric acid contract at the same price. This parallel settlement indicates limited volatility in the market and suggests suppliers are maintaining price discipline.

Importantly, the newly agreed Indorama phosphoric acid contract remains unchanged from the previous quarter. The rollover highlights stable raw material costs and consistent downstream fertilizer demand, particularly for DAP and NPK production.

India continues to be one of the world’s largest importers of phosphoric acid due to its strong fertilizer manufacturing base. Long-term agreements such as the contract help domestic producers secure supply and manage cost fluctuations.

Industry sources said sulfur prices and freight rates are being closely monitored, as any sharp movement could influence future contract negotiations. However, current fundamentals suggest prices may remain range-bound in the near term.

Looking ahead, buyers and suppliers will watch seasonal fertilizer demand and raw material trends to assess pricing direction for the next quarter. The stability of the contract provides short-term visibility for Indian fertilizer producers.
