Tampa, Florida – October 2025 — The Mosaic Company has completed the sale of its PMosaic Patos de Minas Phosphate Mine in Brazil to Fosfatados Centro SPE Ltda. for $111 million in cash, according to an official company announcement.
Under the agreement, Fosfatados Centro paid $51 million upfront and will pay the remaining $60 million in installments over the next four years.
The buyer will take full operational responsibility for the mine and tailings dams at the idled site.
Mosaic to Record $80–90 Million Gain in Q4 2025
Mosaic expects to post a book gain of $80–90 million from the transaction in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The company stated that proceeds from the sale will be reinvested into higher-returning areas, improving operational agility and profitability.

Fosfatados Centro to Restart Phosphate Operations
Fosfatados Centro SPE Ltda. plans to restart the Mosaic Patos de Minas Phosphate Mine to supply phosphate fertilizers to Brazil’s agricultural market.
According to Rodolfo Galvani Júnior, owner of Fosfatados Centro, the project will boost fertilizer supply in Brazil’s Central-West Cerrado region, one of the country’s largest farming zones.
“This agreement supports the supply of customized phosphate fertilizers to one of Brazil’s fastest-growing farming regions,” Galvani Júnior said.
The company will also invest in mine rehabilitation, production upgrades, and logistics improvements to strengthen the local phosphate supply chain.
